I also shave the belly of both my dogs, especially my Great Pyrenees. Keeping her undercoat thin is helpful as well. I use cooling pads, shoes, cooling jackets and cool, wet towels as needed as well. With Nick being my service dog, I have to plan trips around the heat as well.
